Parliaments have a legitimate and crucial role in the debate on the UN Binding Treaty on transnational corporations (TNCs) and other business enterprises with respect to human rights.  From October 2017 to October 2019, 321 members of regional and national parliaments, as well as municipal authorities have endorsed the Call of People’s Representatives Worldwide for the UN Binding Treaty (https://bindingtreaty.org). In view of the paramount importance of the 5th Session of the OEIGWG on transnational corporations (TNCs) and other business enterprises with respect to human rights, the Side Event will be an opportunity to hear the proposals and reflections of several members of the European Parliament as well as Parliaments of Latin America and Asia and debate on future joint initiatives.

Interpretation will be provided in English, Spanish and French
