Made in Morocco: Garment production for public authorities. Traceability and guarantees

SETEM, Clean Clothes Campaign

In this report, we focus our attention on Morocco, carrying on from other work carried out by the Spanish Clean Clothes Campaign. The document shows the situation of female garment workers in the North African kingdom, paying special attention to the factors that keep the workers in poverty despite having a job. The second part highlights a case study in which we have attempted to ascertain the origin of the clothing bought by public tender to contract by a number of European public authorities, identifying those supplier companies that have relocated production to Tangier, in order to gather witness accounts about the employment conditions of the people who work in the production of this clothing.
