In a Hearing of the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal, in Geneva, communities affected by actions and activities of transnational corporations gave their testimonies demanding justice and remedy for the past and ongoing violations of human and peoples rights. This Hearing was the opening activity of the Week of Action. similarly, it is also part of the wider activity that the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal have been carrying out since 1979 in its Sessions, as well as a kind of continuation of its Session in Madrid, 2010, to which the Declaration is inspired.
